Wailua Falls

In Hawaiian, Wailua means “two waters.” People can swing on a tree rope and fly past the fall before jumping into the pool. The picturesque waterfalls were in the opening credits of the 1970s TV show Fantasy Island. Opaekaa Falls is the island’s most accessible major waterfall, which cascades into a hidden pool. Opaeka‘a means “rolling shrimp,” once abundant in the stream.
